Mobile Apps.

A proper iOS and Android app, drawn in Figma and approved on your phone before we write a line of code. Payments, push, wallets and an admin behind it. And because it’s built once, the same app can run on the web and TV too.

01About this service

DotPerformance provides a complete app service, from the first screen in Figma to launch in both app stores. Design, development and the app stores all come from one in-house team, so there’s nothing to source elsewhere and nobody to manage.

02Why it works.

Four phones on red showing the FC Isle of Man app's lock screen alerts, league standings, 2025/26 merchandise and a replica home shirtFC Isle of Man

The features people expect from an appPush notifications, Apple and Google Wallet passes, biometric login, camera, offline. The things that make it feel like a real app, not a website in a box.

Designed to your brand, before it’s builtEvery screen is drawn to your brand in Figma and approved before a line of code is written. You tap through a clickable prototype on your own phone, so what ships is what you agreed.

One build for iOS, Android and the webBuilt once in Angular and Ionic, packaged as a native app with Capacitor. The same code runs on iOS, Android, the web and TV, so it costs less than native and every version says the same thing.

Payments and e-commerceApple Pay, Google Pay and cards, with a proper checkout, receipts and refunds. Memberships, bookings, orders or one-off purchases, on your own account.

An admin behind itContent, users, orders and notifications managed from one admin your team can run. It’s the same headless CMS your website uses, so one change lands everywhere.

Submitted and liveWe handle the developer accounts, the listings, the review process and the release. You get the links to the App Store and Google Play on launch day.

Hosted and looked afterHosted serverless on AWS with a DynamoDB back end, so it scales when you get featured. Security, patching and uptime monitoring run 365 days a year, and new OS versions don’t catch you out.

03Who you’ll work with.

Adrian leads the design and Simon the build, from the first screen to the app stores and beyond. You’ll talk it through with Andy and Adrian.

  • Andy Orton

    Founder

Twenty years of watching how people use what’s been built. The strategy, the journeys and the content. Structures every app himself.

  • Ella Garvey

    Designer and Marketer

The words in the app and the designs that go with them, so every screen is clear.

  • Raluca Matei

    Operations Director

The plan, the schedule and the sign-offs, from the first screen to launch day.

  • Adrian Crellin

    UX and UI Designer

Screens designed for a thumb, not a mouse. Every screen in Figma, tuned for iOS and Android, and the clickable prototype.

  • Simon King

    Head of Digital

The technical calls, made before a line of code. The architecture, the infrastructure and the one codebase behind web, iOS and Android.

  • Claudiu Danila

    Senior Developer

The parts people pay through. Back end, payments, APIs and the tests.

  • Vero Danila

    Front end

The screens in code: the components, the motion and how the app feels on every phone.

  • Mark Wade

    Senior Developer

The admin, the APIs and the connections between the app and your other systems.

  • John Beaty

    Head of Systems

The back office behind the app. The admin, the data model and the integrations.

  • Juan Readshaw

    Systems Support Specialist

Security scanning and testing, and every release checked before it reaches the stores.

05Compared to the alternatives.

There are several ways to get an app built, and each one suits someone.

  • An app builder.

Glide, Adalo and the like. Cheap and quick, and fine for an internal tool. But your customers will recognise the template, and the moment you need payments, integrations or your own design, you’re rebuilding.

  • A freelance developer.

Cheaper for simple apps, but apps take months, and if one person disappears you stall. Design and strategy aren’t usually included.

  • Us.

Priced from the design stage. Design and build by one team in one studio, every screen approved before code, one build for iOS, Android, web and TV, payments and wallets built in, and the same people looking after it afterwards.

  • A UK app agency.

Often good work, and usually two native builds, one for each platform, which is why it costs more. You don’t always get the people who pitched, and there’s an account manager in between.

06Questions.

How much does an app from DotPerformance cost?

DotPerformance prices an app in stages: the design stage from £7,500 plus VAT, the build from £10,000, and App Store preparation and submission from £2,500. Each stage is priced in writing before it starts. One build for iOS, Android and the web costs less than native apps built separately.

How long does DotPerformance take to build an app?

Design usually takes four weeks. The build usually takes eight to twelve weeks from approved design to live in both app stores. DotPerformance agrees the timeline in writing before starting.

Do we need separate iOS and Android apps?

No. DotPerformance builds once, in Angular and Ionic, and packages it as a native app for the App Store and Google Play with Capacitor. The same code runs on the web and on Apple TV and Android TV. One codebase, one team, one release.

Is a DotPerformance app a real native app?

Yes. It installs from the App Store and Google Play, sits on the home screen, and uses the phone’s own features: push notifications, camera, biometrics, wallet and offline storage. Where the phone needs native code, DotPerformance writes it.

Can a DotPerformance app take payments and issue wallet passes?

Yes. Apple Pay, Google Pay and cards, with a full checkout, receipts and refunds through your own payment account. Tickets, passes, membership cards and loyalty cards can be issued to Apple and Google Wallet and updated from your admin. The FC Isle of Man app does all of this.

Who manages the content and users in a DotPerformance app?

You do, from an admin DotPerformance builds alongside the app: content, users, orders and notifications in one place.

Does DotPerformance handle the app stores?

Yes. Developer accounts, listings, screenshots, privacy labels, review and release. You get the store links on launch day, and DotPerformance handles updates and new operating system versions afterwards.

Who owns an app built by DotPerformance?

The app is published under your developer accounts, and the application code DotPerformance writes is yours. If you ever leave, the application and your data are handed over.

Does DotPerformance build games?

No. DotPerformance builds apps for organisations: bookings, memberships, orders, accounts, field tools and customer service. If what you have in mind is a game, DotPerformance will say so on the first call.
