UX & UI Design.
We design digital products screen by screen, starting on the phone, where most of your customers will meet them. We start with concepts, then turn the one you choose into a full clickable prototype your developers can build from.

01About this service
DotPerformance provides a complete UX and UI design service, from the first concepts to a full clickable prototype. Research and journeys, copy, interface design and the design system all come from one in-house team, with engineers in the same studio, so what we design can be built.
02Why it works.
MRMSMobile firstEvery journey is designed on a phone screen before anything else. If it works there, it works everywhere, and it’s where most of your customers will meet it.
A free first lookSend us what you have: a product, a prototype or an idea. We work out where people get stuck, then tell you what it needs and what it will cost. No charge for that.
A clickable prototype before the detailA clickable prototype of the key journeys goes on your phone and in front of real people before anything is polished. It’s the cheapest point to find out what doesn’t work.
Every screen in FigmaThen the hi-fi design: every screen drawn to your brand, tuned for iOS, Android and the web, and approved by you before it goes anywhere.
A design system that keeps it cleanColours, type, spacing and components, documented in Figma. It’s why screen fifty looks as considered as screen one, and why your team can add to it without breaking it.
Every detail decided on purposeHierarchy, spacing, contrast, the words on the buttons. The difference between a clean interface and a busy one is a hundred small decisions, and we make every one on purpose.
Checked by our engineers before handoverOur engineers sit in the same studio and review every design before it leaves, so what we hand over can be built. Your developers get every measurement, state and asset.
Built here, or by your teamHand the files to your own developers, or have the same studio build it. Most clients who start with design go on to build with us, but you don’t have to.
03Who you’ll work with.
Specialists, each responsible for one part of the experience. You deal with them directly, from the first look to the last Figma file. You’ll talk it through with Andy and Adrian.

04What it costs.
- Initial conceptsAn initial meeting to understand what you need, then concepts presented to you and your team.
from£3,000
- A full clickable prototypeEvery journey clickable on your phone, with draft text and a full design system, ready for your developers or ours.
from£7,500
From-prices, plus VAT, with a written figure before any work starts. For continuous improvement after launch, with new ideas every quarter, see Digital Teams.
05Compared to the alternatives.
There are several ways to get a product designed, and each one suits someone.
- A UI kit or template.
Cheap and quick. Every product built on it looks the same, and your customers can tell.
- A freelance designer.
Often very good, and cheaper for small jobs. But it rests on one person, and there’s rarely anyone who builds in the room, so the designs don’t always survive development.
- Us.
Initial concepts from £3,000 and a full clickable prototype from £7,500. Specialists on every project, from taxonomy to UI, mobile first, prototype before polish, a design system you keep, and engineers in the same studio so what we draw can be built. We can build it too, or hand it to your team.
- A larger product agency.
Often good work and a bigger team. You don’t always get the people who pitched, and there’s usually an account manager between you and the designer.
06Questions.
What does DotPerformance’s UX and UI design service cover?
Digital products: apps, platforms, customer portals, dashboards, booking and account journeys, and the internal tools staff use every day. DotPerformance designs every journey on a phone screen first, then scales up to tablet and desktop.
How much does UX and UI design cost?
DotPerformance’s initial concepts cost from £3,000 plus VAT, including an initial meeting and a presentation. A full clickable prototype, with draft text and a full design system, costs from £7,500. The first look is free, and the figure is agreed in writing before work starts.
Who does the design work at DotPerformance?
A team of specialists, each owning one part: Andy Orton on UX and taxonomy, Adrian Crellin on UI and the design system, Ella Garvey on messaging, Simon King on information architecture, and Jason Burton keeping it true to your brand. If you want it built, Claudiu Danila and Vero Danila build it. You deal with them directly from the first look to the last file.
Why does DotPerformance build a prototype first?
Because a prototype is the cheapest point to find out what does not work. A clickable prototype of the key journeys goes in front of your team and your customers within weeks, before any screen is polished and long before any code is written.
What do we get at the end of a DotPerformance design project?
Every screen in Figma, a design system with the colours, type, spacing and components, an interactive prototype, and a developer-ready handoff with annotations. Everything is yours, and DotPerformance’s own engineers review the designs before they leave the studio so they can be built.
Can DotPerformance work with our own developers?
Yes. The handoff is built for developers, and DotPerformance is happy to join your team’s calls while they build. DotPerformance can also build the product itself: websites, apps and taking prototypes to production are done in the same studio.
Can DotPerformance redesign a product we already have?
Yes, and that is where most projects start. DotPerformance looks at what people actually do in the product, finds where they get stuck, and redesigns from there. The free first look says whether the structure or only the interface needs work.
Work.
