Vibe to Production.
The prototype proved the idea. Now it needs to work for real users, with real data, without you watching it. We redesign it properly, harden the engineering, test it, secure it and run it on Orbit™ and AWS. Then we look after it.

01About this service
DotPerformance takes a working prototype and turns it into production software: redesigned, rebuilt where it needs to be, secured and tested, then looked after once it’s live.
02Why it works.
Built to cope with real usersTest data behaves. Real data doesn’t. We rebuild the architecture, the database and the data model so it holds up when everyone turns up at once.
We review it firstSend us the prototype and the repo. We look at the code, the architecture, the interface and the security, then tell you what it needs and what it will cost. No charge for that.
Designed properlyAI tools produce generic interfaces, and your customers can tell. Our designers rebuild the screens to your brand, then we build them for real.
TestedVibe-coded prototypes have no tests, so every new feature breaks the last one. We don’t patch what the AI wrote. We rebuild the parts that need it properly, and test them before anything goes live.
Made secureMost prototypes let anyone with the link see everything. We add authentication, permissions and an audit trail, and harden it to Cyber Essentials standard.
Built on Orbit™Your product lands on our platform: a CMS your team can edit, hosting on AWS, and the protection that keeps it patched, backed up and monitored.
Looked afterOnce it’s live, someone has to keep it that way. Security, patching and uptime monitoring run 365 days a year, and the same team is there for what comes next.
Sometimes the honest answer is to start againNot every prototype is worth saving. If rebuilding is cheaper and safer than repairing, the review will say so, with the numbers.
03Who you’ll work with.
Simon leads it, from the first review to launch and beyond. You’ll talk it through with Andy and Simon.

04What it costs.

Free
- Taking it to productionRedesigned, rebuilt where it needs to be, secured and tested, usually in six to ten weeks.
from£7,500
From-prices, plus VAT, with a fixed figure in writing after the free review, before you commit. For continuous improvement once it’s live, with new ideas every quarter, see Digital Teams.
05Compared to the alternatives.
There are several ways to get a prototype to production, and each one suits someone.
- Do it yourself.
Free, apart from months of evenings and weekends learning production engineering as you go. The interface stays as the AI built it, and the security gaps you find are the ones your customers found first. Fine if it’s internal and the stakes are low.
- An offshore rescue service.
Usually £3,000 to £15,000. The engineering gets hardened and small fixes come back quickly, but the AI-generated interface stays, the team is distributed, and there’s no UK security certification. Fine for prototypes that only need the engineering fixed.
- Us.
Priced from a free review. A senior design and engineering team in one studio, the interface redesigned as well as the engineering rebuilt, Cyber Essentials certified, an AWS-qualified team, and the same people running it afterwards. For prototypes that need both the engineering and the design to reach production, and for anything in a regulated sector.
06Questions.
What is vibe coding?
Vibe coding is building software by describing what you want to an AI tool such as Lovable, Cursor, Bolt or Replit and letting it write the code. It is a fast way to prove an idea, and rarely a way to build something customers can rely on. DotPerformance takes those prototypes to production.
What does DotPerformance’s free review of a prototype involve?
You send DotPerformance the prototype and access to the repository. We look at the code, the architecture, the interface, the user journeys and the security, then tell you what the product needs to reach production and what that will cost, in writing. The review takes a few days and is free.
How much does taking a prototype to production cost?
Taking a prototype to production starts from £7,500 plus VAT. The review is free, and you get a fixed, written price after it, before you commit to a build. Most builds then take six to ten weeks, with the timeline agreed in writing.
Which AI tools can DotPerformance work from?
Any of them: Lovable, Cursor, Bolt, Replit, v0, Copilot, Windsurf, Base44, Figma Make, and code written directly with Claude or ChatGPT. The output is JavaScript, TypeScript, Python or Node, which DotPerformance’s developers work in every day.
Will DotPerformance keep the prototype’s design?
Usually not. AI tools produce generic layouts and customers can tell. DotPerformance’s designers rebuild the screens to your brand, then the engineers build them properly. We keep the parts of the original designs that work, and if a prototype is cheaper and safer to rebuild than repair, the review says so with the numbers.
Where does the product run after DotPerformance has built it?
On Orbit™, DotPerformance’s own platform, hosted on AWS. That gives your team a content system they can edit, and the product gets security, patching and uptime monitoring 365 days a year.
Who owns the code when DotPerformance takes a prototype to production?
The application code DotPerformance writes is yours. The Orbit™ platform it runs on stays with DotPerformance. If you ever leave, the application and your data are handed over for you to rehost.
Can DotPerformance work with regulated organisations?
Yes. DotPerformance is Cyber Essentials certified, its team holds AWS qualifications, and it builds for the Isle of Man Government, the Isle of Man Post Office and clients in banking and financial services. The security standards those clients need are the ones used on every project.
Built on Orbit™
Your prototype lands on our platform.
Orbit™ is the CMS your team edits in, the hosting the product runs on, and the protection around it: patched, backed up and watched around the clock. Your prototype stops being a thing on someone’s laptop and becomes a product with a home.
