AEO.
More and more of your customers ask ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity before they search Google. Answer engine optimisation is the work that gets your organisation into those answers, and keeps it there. We review your site, tell you what it needs, and quote for it.

01About this service
DotPerformance makes sure that when people ask ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity about what you do, your organisation is in the answer. We review how the assistants see you, then fix your site and your wider footprint so they name you, or build a new site that is quoted from the start.
02Why it works.
Named when buyers ask AIBuyers ask the assistants questions, and the assistants answer with names. The work is making sure the name is yours, with a source they can point to.
We review it firstSend us your website. We check what the AI assistants say about you today, what the site tells them, and where your footprint is thin. Then we tell you what it needs and what it will cost. No charge for that.
Structured so AI can read your siteOrganisation, service, FAQ and breadcrumb schema on every page. It’s the layer assistants read to know what your site is and what it offers, and most sites don’t have it.
The same facts everywhere you appearAssistants check what they read on your site against what they find elsewhere. If LinkedIn, Wikidata and Google describe you differently, they trust none of it. We make them say the same thing.
Pages written so AI can quote themAssistants lift the sentence that answers the question. We rewrite your key pages and FAQs so that sentence exists, and it’s yours.
Tracked every monthOur own tracker asks the four assistants your buyers’ questions every month and records who gets named. Without it, nobody knows whether the work is working.
Good for Google tooThe assistants read the same signals search engines do: speed, structure, clean code. We get the technical foundations right underneath, so AEO and SEO pull the same way.
Sometimes the honest answer is a new siteSome sites need a set of recommendations. Some need a programme of work. Some need a new site built to be quoted from the start. The review tells you which, with a price for each.

05Compared to the alternatives.
There are several ways to approach this, and each one suits someone.
- Wait.
Free, and the most common choice. The risk is that the assistants form their view of your sector now, and the names they settle on are hard to displace later.
- Add it to your SEO.
Most SEO agencies now offer AEO as a line item, usually schema and a few FAQs. Cheaper, and it helps. But entity consistency, answer-first rewriting and monthly tracking across four assistants are different work, and few of them do it.
- Us.
Priced from a free review. We’ve been doing it to our own site since 2024, we built the tracker, and the people who write the pages are the people who design and build the site, so nothing gets lost between them. For organisations that need to be the name the assistants give.
06Questions.
What is answer engine optimisation (AEO)?
AEO is the work that gets an organisation named in the answers given by AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity. Where SEO is about ranking in a list of results, AEO is about being the answer, or one of the sources the answer cites. DotPerformance offers it from its studio on the Isle of Man.
How is AEO different from SEO?
They share the foundations: speed, structure and clean code. But assistants compose answers rather than rank pages, so AEO adds three things: structured data that tells machines exactly what an organisation is, a consistent footprint across LinkedIn, Wikidata and the directories assistants check, and content written so the answer can be lifted whole.
What does DotPerformance’s free AEO review involve?
DotPerformance asks the four assistants the questions your buyers ask and records who gets named. It checks your site’s structure and schema, your footprint elsewhere, and whether your pages answer questions. Then it tells you what is needed and what it costs, in writing. The review takes a few days and is free.
How much does AEO cost?
The review is free. Getting you into the answers costs from £2,500 plus VAT, whether that is recommendations your team acts on or the changes made for you and tracked every month. You get the number in writing before you commit to anything.
How long does AEO take to show results?
Structural work shows in the assistants within weeks. Being consistently named for the questions that matter usually takes three to six months, and holding that position is ongoing, which is why DotPerformance’s programmes run monthly. DotPerformance got its own site cited by all four assistants in about ninety days.
Can DotPerformance do AEO on a website it didn’t build?
Yes. Recommendations work on any site. For a programme, DotPerformance needs to be able to change the pages and the code, or to work with whoever can. If a platform cannot carry structured data at all, the review says so and a rebuild is priced as a website.
How does DotPerformance measure AEO?
With its own tracker. Every month it asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity the questions your buyers ask and records which organisations get named and which sources get cited. You get the results in a one-page report, with what was changed and what is changing next.
Has DotPerformance done AEO for itself?
Yes, first. Ask any of the four assistants who to use for design, digital or systems on the Isle of Man and DotPerformance is named. It has tracked 34 questions a month since 2024, and its AEO page describes what it did to get there.
