Onboarding
Applying for a pension online, without the paperwork.
Opening a pension used to mean forms, posted documents and a wait while each one was checked. Boal & Co wanted the people and organisations it serves to be able to apply online, in their own time and on any device.

We designed and built two onboarding journeys: one for individuals opening their own pension, and one for employers setting up a workplace plan. Both replace traditional paper onboarding.

How it works
Clear sections
Each application is split into short sections, from personal details, tax and contributions to beneficiaries, fees and signing. Applicants always see where they are and what is left.
Progress saved as they go
Every section is saved, so applicants can stop and pick up where they left off, on any device.
Employers build their plan step by step
Company details, bank account, plan information, adviser and fees, key contacts and signatories each have their own step.
Documents requested for the plan
The documents needed are listed for each plan and uploaded securely, with progress shown as each one is added.
Details entered once
A beneficiary’s address can be taken from the applicant’s own with one tap, and the most common countries sit at the top of every list.
Review and sign
Signing opens once every other section is complete, so applications arrive finished.

What changed
Onboarding that used to run on paper now happens online, and much faster. Applicants see exactly what is needed and how far they have to go, and Boal & Co receives complete applications.
