DotPerformance set out to capture the spirit of junior tennis on the Isle of Man, sponsoring a video production for Tennis Isle of Man to capture the thriving community and dedication of young players shaping the future of the sport on the island.

Led by tennis parent and filmmaker Andy Orton, our crew created an energetic, people-focused film that highlights the dedication of junior players, the commitment of parents and coaches, and the unique culture surrounding tennis on the island.

With five established clubs - Albany, Douglas, Castletown, Port Erin and Ramsey - the Tennis Isle of Man community is beginning to thrive, offering inclusive coaching, exciting travel opportunities, and a lively social scene where families connect just as much as players do.

Most people only tune in during Wimbledon or when a superstar steps onto the court. But behind this small island’s clubs lies something genuinely special: a community full of passion, personality, and potential. Our job was to bring that story to life and show that tennis is cool - no matter the skill level.

Featuring Charlotte Clarke, Tristan Pretorius, Sean Drewry, Max Stokoe, Chris Butler and many more young athletes, the film highlights a small community growing stronger every year. And the response proved that local stories resonate: the video reached over 120,000 views, boosting Tennis IOM’s visibility, supporting junior tennis recruitment, and drawing new families into the sport. It validated a key belief of ours - people will watch an engaging story, whether it’s about a global tennis star or a tight-knit club on an island in the middle of the Irish Sea.

Capturing this story wasn’t without its challenges. With limited time on location and a tight shooting window, our three-person crew relied on dynamic run-and-gun cinematography paired with dramatic aerial perspectives. We deployed dual drone systems - a DJI Inspire 3 for cinematic wides and a custom-built FPV Cinelifter carrying a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K. The result: playful, immersive sequences rarely seen in community-level sports films.

Above all, the film celebrates the people behind the programme: coaches who champion every child’s growth, parents who are every bit as invested as the kids, and young players who dream big - especially with role models like Billy Harris showing what’s possible for Manx athletes.

This project reflects what drives us at DotPerformance: using creativity and storytelling to elevate small communities, celebrate their spirit, and help them grow. And for Tennis Isle of Man, that story is only getting stronger.
