Someone in Manchester is planning a break. They've heard about the Isle of Man - the landscape, the quietness, the TT if the timing's right. They open a few tabs. One has photography that makes them stop scrolling. One makes it easy to find what they need. One feels like the island itself, before they've even booked.

That's the one they book through.

The brief

Island Escapes has spent years building a portfolio of award-winning self-catering accommodation across the Isle of Man - from characterful cottages to premium apartments. The reputation was earned. The website we originally built had done its job. But the portfolio had grown, expectations had moved, and the site needed to catch up.

The challenge wasn't starting from scratch. It was taking something that worked and making it work significantly harder - for guests trying to find the right property, for visitors trying to plan a trip, and for an accommodation business that needed its digital presence to reflect the quality of what it was offering.

What we built

Design and user experience A modern, fully responsive redesign that puts the properties front and centre without losing the island around them. Clean layouts, clear navigation, and a visual hierarchy that guides visitors from inspiration to booking without friction.

Property showcase A site built to handle a diverse portfolio - cottages, apartments, short stays, longer lets - in a way that makes it easy for every type of visitor to find what fits. Filtering, detail, and imagery working together so the right guest finds the right property.

Isle of Man travel guide Island Escapes isn't just selling accommodation. They're selling the island. The refreshed site reflects that. Travel tips, local attractions, dining, things to do - comprehensive, useful, and woven into the experience of browsing rather than buried in a corner. Guests arrive informed and already invested in where they're going.

Photography and image galleries Strategically placed throughout the site to do what good travel photography should: make someone feel like they're already there. The island's landscapes, the properties themselves, the details that make the difference between a place that looks appealing and one that feels unmissable.

What changed

The updated site does two things well that the previous version did separately. It sells the accommodation. And it sells the island. Both together, seamlessly, in a way that makes planning a trip to the Isle of Man feel straightforward and exciting rather than effortful.

Visitors can explore, plan, and book in the same place. Island Escapes has a digital presence that reflects the standard of what they offer - and a platform that grows with the portfolio rather than struggling to keep up with it.
