A seventeen-year-old in Castletown wants to know what jobs are actually available on the island. Not eventually. Now. She doesn't know where to look, doesn't have a CV, and isn't sure what an apprenticeship involves versus a graduate scheme versus an internship. She has potential. What she doesn't have is a clear way in.

That's what Just The Job is for.

The gap it closes

Junior Achievement has spent years helping young people on the Isle of Man unlock what they're capable of. The Just The Job platform, developed in partnership with the Z Zurich Foundation, was built around a specific problem: the path from young person to employed person is harder than it needs to be.

Opportunities exist. Local employers are hiring. But the connection between the two - the thing that makes a young person feel like employment is accessible and a local business feel like young talent is findable - wasn't there in a single, trusted place.

Just The Job is that place.

What we built

Brand identity A refined colour palette and cohesive brand system designed to speak directly to a young audience without feeling patronising or corporate. The identity needed to feel energetic and credible in equal measure - the kind of brand a seventeen-year-old takes seriously and an employer trusts.

Platform and UX A fully designed and developed online platform built around the real needs of two very different users: young job seekers who may never have written a CV, and local employers looking to connect with emerging talent. Intuitive navigation, clear pathways, and a design that removes barriers rather than creating them.

Live jobs board Permanent and part-time roles, graduate positions, apprenticeships, internships, seasonal work, and volunteering opportunities - updated in real time, so the platform reflects what's actually available on the island right now.

CV builder Young people can build and manage their CV directly on the platform. For someone applying for their first job, removing that first hurdle makes a meaningful difference to whether they apply at all.

Career resources Industry guides covering the Isle of Man's employment landscape. Practical advice on writing a CV that stands out and performing well in an interview. For employers, guidance on hiring young people and getting the most from the platform. A comprehensive resource for every stage of the journey, not just the job listing itself.

Why the brand mattered as much as the platform

A youth employment platform only works if young people use it. That means it has to feel like it was made for them - not adapted from something designed for a different audience, not stripped of personality in the name of professionalism.

The brand and the platform were built as a single system. The identity informs how the site feels. The site delivers what the brand promises. Together they give Just The Job a presence that earns the trust of its two audiences simultaneously.

What it means for the island

The Isle of Man has no shortage of young people with potential or employers with opportunities. What it needed was a better connection between the two.

Just The Job is that connection. A platform that gives young people on the island a clear, supported way into employment - and gives local businesses a direct route to the talent that's already here.
