Paula Hamilton

Accounts Executive

Paula is the Accounts Executive at DotPerformance. She is responsible for the day to day running of accounts across the business, and brings more than a decade of experience to a role that touches every part of how the company operates.

What drives her is precision. Paula has the kind of eye for detail that makes her genuinely suited to accounts work, not because she was trained into it, but because inaccuracy bothers her in a way that is difficult to explain to people who do not share it. She is currently working towards her ACCA qualifications, which tells you something about how seriously she takes the discipline. Numbers either add up or they do not, and Paula always knows which.

Her responsibilities span bookkeeping, reporting, credit control, and client meetings. She is the person who keeps the financial infrastructure of the business clean and accurate, and who makes sure that what needs to happen, happens on time. That reliability is not incidental. It is the job.

What colleagues will also tell you is that Paula is sharp, funny, and direct in equal measure. She brings the same no-nonsense approach to everything she does, and it is the kind of quality that makes her as easy to trust as she is to work with.

What does the accounts function look like inside a creative agency?

More varied than most people expect. Paula is working across a business where projects are moving constantly, clients have different needs, and the financial picture is always shifting. It also helps that she has a creative instinct the team draws on regularly. That combination of financial rigour and creative thinking is unusual, and it is one of the reasons she is as valuable to DotPerformance as she is.

What is Paula like to work with?

Direct, organised, and dependable. She has high standards for the work and is not shy about applying them. Colleagues who have not logged their time will tell you this firsthand.

What does client facing mean in an accounts context?

For most businesses, accounts and client relationships are kept separate. At DotPerformance they are not. Paula deals directly with clients, which means she needs to be as comfortable in a conversation as she is in a spreadsheet. That ability to move between the two, and to handle sensitive financial conversations with the same directness and care she brings to everything else, is what makes her particularly effective in the role.
