John Beaty

Head of Systems

John is Head of Systems at DotPerformance. He is the person who keeps everything running, and who understands that when the technical infrastructure is solid, everyone else can do their best work. Two decades of experience across systems, security, and technical support means he has seen almost everything. Very little phases him.

What drives him is a genuine love of the work. John has the kind of technical mind that finds satisfaction in a problem properly solved, a system properly built, and a process that runs cleanly without anyone having to think about it. That instinct for getting things right, combined with a natural curiosity about where technology is heading, has kept him at the forefront of the discipline for more than twenty years.

He covers the full spectrum of technical responsibility: system functionality, IT infrastructure, security, and innovation. For the people he supports, that breadth means one thing in practice. They are in safe hands.

What colleagues will also tell you is that John is one of the funniest people in the building. His humour is quick, dry, and delivered with the confidence of someone who has never once misjudged the room. He is equally passionate about air fryers, the latest TikTok rabbit hole he has fallen down, and cycling the island with as many coffee stops as the route will allow.

What does John's role actually cover?

Everything that sits underneath the work. System functionality, security, infrastructure, and the technical decisions that determine what the business can do and how reliably it can do it. John ensures that the platforms, tools, and systems DotPerformance and its clients depend on are running properly, protected, and built for what comes next.

How does John approach technical problems?

Methodically, and without drama. John is a logical thinker who works through complexity calmly and systematically. In situations where things have gone wrong or where the pressure is on, that steadiness matters as much as the technical knowledge behind it. He assesses, diagnoses, and fixes. Then he works out how to make sure it does not happen again.

What does working with John look like for clients?

Clients experience the results more than the process, which is exactly how it should be. When John's work is done well, systems are invisible. Things work, data is secure, and the technical environment supports rather than obstructs. For organisations that have grown quickly or that carry legacy infrastructure, his ability to assess what exists and build towards what is needed is particularly valuable.
